The evaluation of forklift type robot in simulated ambient condition has been conducted based
on the detail of risk assessment from FY2012.
The basic operation, detecting function of obstacle and sequence in abnormal situation for
3dimentional obstacle sensor has been tested and confirmed.
The evaluation of crash test has been done at JARI to assess the behavior of dummy when its crash
and impact with/without helmet.
All the conditions which are HIC (Head Injury Criteria), neck & chest shock satisfied for 1st impact.
It has been proved that wearing a helmet is effective to mitigate the impact of the crash.
It’s been observed that the all the part which is mentioned above get big impact when the dummy
falls down towards behind for 2nd impact. The number of HIC especially shows big number, which
is higher than criteria. The 2nd impact is under the process for reconsideration including the
evaluation at consortium.

Entrainment of feet under safety bumper has been observed during crash. Improvement of Car-body
shape will be considered continuously in FY2013. The result of evaluation from simulated ambient
condition within the company shows normal working function & condition for safety system. However,
the safety sensor which is installed near the floor level sometime react misdetection for dust.
It will also be reconsidered for improvement in FY2013.
The safety support system has been confirmed the basic function and motion such as obstacle
avoidance by 3dimentional position recognition device and decelerating drive when it comes close
to car-body shape.

The test assuming of distributing center will continuously be done in FY2013.
