1. Review and Selection of Working Fluid at 100℃ - 150℃ Working fluid used at the Rankine cycle was reviewed considering the critical temperature, and influences to the human body and the environment. We have selected several candidate working fluids, calculated theoretical values of the energy regeneration efficiency, and reviewed whether they can accomplish the 10 to 12% of energy regeneration efficiency, the target number in this research. As a result the review, we have chosen R245fa as a working fluid to be used in this research. 2. Design, Production and Assembly of the expander-generator The expansion characteristics on Working fluid R245fa were calculated. The shapes of the scrolls were designed. Based on this scroll, design of expander-generator was designed, and the balances and the strengths were calculated. Final drawings for design were made. The production was made. The inspection of the produced components were made. 3. Design, Production and Assembly of the working fluid circulation system Flow of working fluid circulation system (Rankine system) that recovers the low thermal heat source of 100 -200℃ and generates electricity, was designed. The selection of the heat exchanger, the flow meter, and temperature indicator was made. The drawing for design was made. The production based on the drawing was begun. 4. Review, Production, and Assembly of Heat medium Vessel Heat medium of boiling point of or above 200℃ was reviewed. The heat medium, NeoSK-OIL240 was selected. Optimized heat medium vessel for this heat medium was designed. Drawing of design, and production including the heater and the wiring were made. The assembly using the components produced was made. 5. Design, Production, and Assembly of the power conversion system Mechanical design and electrical design of power conversion system to keep the output voltage and frequency constant regardless of number of revolutions of the expander, based on the converter-inverter method, were made. The drawing for
design was made. Based on the drawing for design, componentry was produced, and the system was assembled. 6. Design, Production, and Assembly of Pressor liquid pump The flow rates and the pressure conditions applying to the working medium R245fa were calculated. Based on the calculation result, modeling, balance calculation, Strength calculation, and design drawing were produced. 7. Brush-up of Business Plan We made marketing investigation by visiting potential users (potential customers), and understood their required specifications. Particularly, we visited the plants possessing low temperature exhausting heat, and Japanese hot spring inn. There on sites, we investigated low temperature thermal sources being wasted and exchanged opinion with them regarding our electric generation system under the development.
