1. Design, manufacture and verification of basic behaviors of the dynamic bearing type implantable axial flow pump
In this fiscal year, the following items were conducted.
-Design, manufacture and performance testing for the primary prototype of axial flow pump
The design points for adults are Pump Flow: 5L/min., Head Pressure: 100 mmHg, Rotational speed: 9,000 rpm.In order to apply the pump for adults to small patients, only the blade profile was changed without changing the basic structure of the hydrodynamic bearing and motor configuration for adults which already had obtained successful results from animal test. (The design points for small patients are Pump Flow: 2L/min., Head Pressure: 100 mmHg.) It was confirmed that the prototype pump manufactured for small patients could be operated with the design points for small patients (2L/min., 100 mmHg).
2. Design, manufacture and verification of basic behaviors of the driving device
In this fiscal year, the following items were conducted.
-Downsizing design and modification for manufacture of the driver for portability improvement
-Planning and installation of the alarm function at emergency the external power source for the driver is lost
-A small housing driver was manufactured to improve portability.
-The inner substrate of 2010 model was applied to the downsized driver as a standard, and the alarm function at emergency the external power source was lost (Alarm + LED blinking, integrated with button batteries) was installed.
-The electrical safety test and electromagnetic compatibility test will be conducted for the prototype for confirmation of safety in the next fiscal year.
