英文要約Title: Japan-U.S. Smart Grid Collaborative Demonstration Project (FY2010-FY2011) FY2011 Annual Report

We are mainly focusing on (1)Microgrid Demonstration in Los Alamos, (2)Microgrid Demonstration in Commercial Areas in Albuquerque, (3)Collective Research on a Smart Grid, (4)Research on cyber security and information and (5)Development of model simulation techniques. (3), (4) and (5) are parts of Collective Research on Overall Project. Regarding (1) and (2), we have developed Micro EMS, MDMS and Smart Meter. They have already delivered on both sites and finished the isolation test of Micro EMS. Especially in Los Alamos Site, we finished the engineering and started the construction on December 5, 2011. We will finish the installation of lead acid batteries by the end of this April, however, due to bad weather and delay of the landfill inspection, we will finish the installation of PV in this July. Regarding (3), we modified the distribution power system and battery models, and performed simulation studies on LAC SG for checking distribution voltages and for evaluating the power balance control by changing LAC demand curves (spring, summer, autumn and winter). For total evaluation of SG through comprehensive simulation study, we constructed simulation bases for the power flow analysis and the power balance control and performed simulation studies mentioned above. Also, we integrated the grid simulator with the costumer’s demand simulator which has been developed by model simulation team for evaluating the demand response effectiveness. Regarding (4), we are discussing 3 topics, 1) Privacy protection for metering data, 2) Robust protocol against brute force authentication attack and 3) Cyber security testing framework. For 1), we investigated MDMS privacy protection scheme which protect metering data. We developed experimental virtual network in which the secured MDMS, smart meters, EMS, billing system are simulated. We also made basic tests for performance using the network. For 2), we confirmed the validity of our protocol with the light-weight message authentication scheme for preventing DDoS attacks. We also evaluated the connectivity of TCP packets with our protocol under the DDoS attacks. For 3), we made threat analysis for the LAC micro grid and the AMI at the abstract level. Then we compared the results with those in the NIST IR 7628.We also made threat analysis (The 2nd cycle) in case some of considered countermeasures are implemented. Regarding (5), we have improved demand simulator speed and it achieved 200 times faster calculation than the old one. Interface for grid simulator is developed and we can now execute hybrid simulation using both simulators. US behavior model is generated from ATUS (American Time Use Survey) data and it is used to calculate US demand data. We have simulated demand response using demand simulator, and the response and rebound can be observed.
