(1) Microgrid Demonstration in Los Alamos
In the fiscal year of 2011, we had completed the manufacturing work of our units
for the demonstration, which are named as Master Control Unit, Micro-DX, and
Slave Unit. We had also completed all the tests of these units at the factory in
Japan. Following the completion of these processes, we have shipped some of these
units to LAC Office. At LAC Office, we had worked for cable connecting, unit
re-assembling and unit testing, and finished these works as planned.
In the meetings held both in Japan and in the U.S., we discussed the examination
method, construction, maintenance, and demonstration schedule.

(2) Smart House Demonstration in Los Alamos
We had completed manufacturing and testing of Supply Stabilizer for the demonstration
of Smart House. We had upgraded Supply Stabilizer Software in the result of connection
testing with the other manufacture’s equipment.
In the meeting in Japan, we discussed demonstration schedule and shipping preparation.
We discussed our requirements for Smart House with U.S. design company.

(3) Development of model simulation techniques
In order to quantitatively evaluate effectiveness of a virtualized energy storage control
method, we improved software platform of the distribution grid simulation.
We introduced concrete models of LAC Fdr-16 and Li-ion battery (LiB). By using this software,
we numerically verified the virtualized LiB control technique for LiB capacity reduction
suppression, assuming 800 LiBs were installed in corresponding residential customers.
As a result, it was demonstrated that 15 to 20% degradation suppression was obtained for
1-year charge/discharge operation of LiB for peak shave application.
