(1)Design and production of fuel cell
A 100kW fuel cell for the business district smart grid demonstration in Albuquerque City was designed, and produced.
In the site investigation in FY2009, the data of natural gas composition is acquired, and the calorific value changes are about 6.5%, and it is understood that it is a range that can be driven to the fuel cell.
So the fuel cell that was designed and produced this year was 13A city gas outdoor standard specification in Japan.
The altitude in Albuquerque City is about 1,600m, and the atmospheric pressure becomes about 82% of the standard. Since the amount of the air supply decreases, the amount of the oxygen supply becomes about 82% though the oxygen density in air has not changed. Therefore, the output of the fuel cell reduce to about 80kW from 100kW in the same control method. The rejection heat uses the hot water at 90℃.

(2) The performance test implementation in the factory of a fuel cell, and conveyance to a spot, and an assembly and an examination.
It carried out that the fuel cell manufactured in the FY2011 could demonstrate predetermined performance by the in-company examination.
A fuel cell gives export packing, carries out predetermined export application procedure, and carries out conveyance to a spot.
The instructor was dispatched in installation and an assembly and construction and an assembly were carried out.
Based on the test result of a factory, evaluation of the test result in a spot and the check of predetermined performance were performed.

(3)Evaluation of fuel cell performance at high ground
The power generation performance depends on the density of air of the driven place (partial pressure of oxygen) so that the fuel cell may use the oxygen in the air as a reacting substance. This time, the fuel cell performance is assumed to be different as the partial pressure of oxygen are lower than low ground because Albuquerque City is a high ground (1600m ), and the output voltage of the fuel cell lowers from the low ground. Moreover, it is expected to influence the combustion performance because the reformer uses it as a combustion air.
The acceptance test at factory is compared with various data in the demonstration saite, and the fuel cell performance is evaluated at high ground.
The following data is acquired for the comparison and the evaluation at the acceptance test at factory and at site test.
