英文要約(1)Background
Raw materials supply cost of the biomass energy is rather expensive. Therefore, it is essential for us to find out how to procure these materials at low cost. Our project is to minimize timber wastes into chips at the site using an attachment for cutting, crushing by the hydraulics of the excavator. Our aim is to develop a system for safe and efficient procurement of bio mass energy materials at low cost.
(2)Test results and issues presented
Field test of the prototypes were carried out to identify the issues.
a. CUTTING UNIT
Results: The end of this unit was modified to rotate 360 degrees. This enabled cutting of standing bamboo and trees. Also, thanks to the use of the holding unit, the cut pieces did not fall down. Safety could be ensured. According to the data obtained in the field test, the number of thick stemmed bamboo and trees which could be cut in one day was around 960 and 720 respectively.
Issues: In case the stumps are left sticking out on the ground, the crawler of the excavator may be damaged or the workers may stumble over them. Therefore, the bamboo should be cut at the very root, level to the ground surface.
b. CRUSHING UNIT
Results: The material was loaded into the hopper and automatically fed into the crushing unit and crushed. According to the obtained data, the weight of processed bamboo and trees was 24t, respectively.
Issues: The goal achievement ratio was 60% for bamboo. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the work efficiency of the crushing unit.
Trees could be processed only to about 5 cm. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a crushing unit especially for trees and preprocess them before loading into the crushing unit.
c. ADAPTOR FOR MOUNTING THE ATTACHMENT
Results: Shifting the lever, the operator can easily mount the adaptor. Safety and efficiency could be ensured in this way. With this adaptor, it can be completed in only about 5 minutes.
(3)Research on price and inquiry
Based on the field test data, the processing cost was calculated to be 11.3 yen/kg.
This cost was found to meet the Inquiries from the customers.
(4)Goal for the next year
a. Improvement of the cutting unit
The cutting unit will be improved to cut bamboo underneath the ground as well as to have the function of a fork. Also, it will be upgraded to cut large trees (diameter of 40 cm). The target amount of bamboo to be processed will be placed at 1280 pieces (32 t per day) and 800 pieces for trees (32t per day)
b. Development of crushing unit for thinning and fallen trees
A unit with the capacity to crush 32 t of trees per day will be developed and the unit for crushing bamboo will be upgraded to process 40 to 48 t per day.
c. Development of unit for preprocessing thinning and fallen trees prior to crushing
Target amount: 32 t per day for trees.
d. Field test to determine the processing cost.
We will try to attain the processing cost of 5.6 yen/kg for bamboo and 8.5 yen/kg for trees.
