Background and outline
BTL is expected to next generation bio fuel which can be used same as fossil liquid fuel. But to commercializing this technology, simplified process and reducing cost are needed.

1.Technology development of super steam and two-stage gasification
To reduce tar and production suitable gas for FT reaction, we have been developing super steam and two-stage gasification of biomass. By using super steam for gasifying agent and carbonization for pretreatment, the proportion of H2 and CO of syngas reached 88%,and the ratio of H2/CO can be controlled around 2 steadily.

2. Technology development of tar cracking catalyst
To minimization tar steadily, we have been developing tar cracking system by using catalyst. We selected suitable catalyst for tar cracking facility we had developed and optimization process, we can reduce tar by 80% before.

3. Catalyst development for low-temperature and low-pressure FT synthesis
To develop highly-functional catalyst for low-temperature and low-pressure FT synthesis, we had investigated design and structure of catalyst. Under the optimized conditions, STY of hydrocarbons of 459g/kg-cat.h at 0.7 MPa-G, 553g/kg-cat.h at 0.9 MPa-G were obtained.

4. Technology development of low-pressure BTL process
We had developed technology of low-pressure BTL process, designed and manufactured bench scale facility of low-pressure BTL process using bubble column reactor. We produced BTL by using the facility successfully.
