7 CPV modules specially designed for international calibration purpose were developed and sent to testing laboratories. Special CPV modules were made to identify measurement error stemmed from temperature variance among concentrator cells and examined. CPV energy yield under domestic irradiance and meteorological condition was modeled with newly updated METPV11 model.
The DFK optics including dome-shaped Fresnel lens and secondary optical element were prototyped. The optical efficiency of the new dome-shaped Fresnel lens was 89.1 % with coating. The precision of secondary optical element reached within the level of 0.1 mm error. Mini modules consist of a pair of lens and cell were made and tested. Conversion efficiency reached 33.3 % with coating and 31.3 % without coating using 39.2 % commercial cell, corresponding 38.3 % module efficiency with the combination of 45 % cell that is the target of this project given by WP3 (cell group).Full modules as large as approximately 1 m2 were made. The conversion efficiency reached 31.0 % without coating using 39.2 % commercial cell, corresponding 35.6 % module efficiency with the combination of 45 % cell that is the target of this project given by WP3 (cell group). The acceptance angle reached as much as plus or minus 0.8 degree in spite of its 1000 X of concentration ratio.
