In this fiscal year, this research will set up the "General Research Committee on High-Reliability and Long Lifetime PV Generation Systems." Under this parent committee, three subcommittees are set up, namely the "High-Reliability PV module Subcommittee," and the "High-Reliability PC and BOS Subcommittee" (PC means power conditioners, and BOS means Balance-of-Systems). : Based on the results of studies made by the individual subcommittees in this fiscal year, the parent committee has organized study policies for the next fiscal year onward, as stated below; : [High-Reliability PV Module] 1) To reorganize open data before and after long-term exposure tests of PV modules and to estimate degradation mechanisms of PV modules in long-term operation 2) To analyze second-hand PV modules in storage and to supplement data shortage with those kept by module makers, to illuminate degradation mechanisms. 3) Research should conduct verification, as a goal, that can establish an acceleration test method so that degradation state can be reproduced. 4) Safety verification is also needed, besides verification of lifetime and degradation, for achieving high-reliability 5) In performing the above-mentioned studies, this research should build a closely cooperated mechanism among the bodies concerned for individual implementations of studies by seeking close cooperation with studies on high-reliability modules promoted by AIST from its own point of view and the standard certification project promoted by the METI, in addition to efforts for improvement in long-term reliability promoted by AIST, etc. under this commissioned project.: [High-Reliability PC and BOS] 1) The peripheral systems encompass a broad range of systems. Thus, research should focus on the study of PC that has seemingly many problems to achieve long lifetime operation. 2) It seems that achieving long lifetime of PC operation has many technical problems to overcome. However, an optimal direction of such studies has been defined well. Thus, research should define the direction by reorganizing the results of questionnaires sent to makers concerned. 3) Like studies on modules, it is also necessary that research sum up open data and results of studies that organizations concerned obtained and disclosed and also investigate situations of second-hand PCs.
