Abstract: Research and development of austenitic stainless steels for high pressure hydrogen valves and joints was undertaken to optimize weight, cost and service life.
Low Mo austenitic stainless steels stainless steel were made in the form of bars forged from 50kg VIM ingots. Chemical compositions of the low Mo austenitic stainless steels were included in the chemical composition range of SUS305. SSRT was carried out at 233K under 70MPa high pressure gaseous hydrogen for SUS305 austenitic stainless steel. Good ductility was shown in SUS305 austenitic stainless steel.
