英文要約(1) Collection of data instrumental in the harmonization of domestic regulations and international standards for Fuel Cell Vehicles
1) Validation of Localized Fire Test Method for On-Board Hydrogen Storage Systems
This study was evaluated the localized fire test method for on-board hydrogen storage systems validity. The change in the distance between the fire source and fuel system, the allowable difference of the localized fire area, the allowable the localized fire temperature were investigated.
2) Method of measuring hydrogen concentration in vehicle compartment after the crash test
In this study conducted based on the allowable leak rate as an alternate method that does not depend upon the measurement of the hydrogen concentration was done.
(2) International standardization of FCV
Based on what the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) has accomplished in the past, JARI prepared drafts and comments after due deliberation of the policy elements of ISO/TC22/SC21/WG1 and of the SAE FCV Safety WG regarding the safety regulations for FCV and the safety of FCV in terms of hydrogen and electricity respectively, paying close attention to the post-accident management safety based on SAE J2990.
(3) Collection of data that contributes to safe accident handling and vehicle disposal
(A) Safety in handling accidents
a) Method to confirm soundness of container after the extinguishing a fire
In this study develop a quick and easy method to identify whether the container is in sound condition after the extinction of a fire, a heating test of fuel container was performed.
b) Degassing method for containers by forced heating of the relief valve
PRD actuation test was conducted using various kinds of electric heaters.
c) Safety at the time of rescue operation
In order to validate a safe rescue method for occupants in the event of an accident involving hydrogen fuel cell vehicle, the situations and environmental effects for the case where high pressure piping was cut was investigated.
d) How to approach the accident vehicle safely
This study was conducted to understand whether the sound of hydrogen leaking can be detected in the presence of traffic noise.

(B) Vehicle disposal
a) Examination of degassing method for container
- Safety of an unattended container
In order to study the rational and safe degassing method while scrapping or disposal of the hydrogen cylinder of end-of-life vehicles, hydrogen concentration of a cylinder and also the effect on the surrounding area when ignition takes place were investigated.
- Combustion disposal test for residual hydrogen gas
In order to compile data regarding the method of processing residual hydrogen gas in the hydrogen cylinder to be disposed of, a study was conducted to find out if the combustion of hydrogen gas is possible using an incinerator that is employed by the cylinder scrapping operators for processing the residual gas of LPG cylinders.
