Development of the next-generation cardiopulmonary support system
1. Development of Centrifugal Pump System
The prototype of the centrifugal blood pump was developed. The following issues were investigated
concerning the manufacturing method of the disposable pump head.
-design of the mold for injection molding
-check of the sample shot of injection molding
-consideration of adhesion process and assembly process
The centrifugal blood pump head was successfully manufactured by injection molding. The smooth transition between the components was successfully realized through testing several adhesive methods. The new prototype produced by the injection molding had the identical hydraulic performance with the older prototype by cutting work.
2. Development of the Centrifugal Pump Driver
The prototype of the centrifugal pump driver was designed and manufactured considering,man-machine interface based on the risk assessment design of the softwares implementation of alarm function implementation of flowmeter
3. Electric Safety Assessment and ElectroMagnetic Compatibility Assessment For Centrifugal Pump Driver
The centrifugal pump system passed all the tested items except for the probe of the flowmeter. The countermeasures to this problem are considered to be effective.
Development of the implantable ventricular assist system
1. Design modification of the implantable ventricular assist system
The design modifications of the axial flow pump toward the final clinical model werecarried out on the following aspects.
configuration of the pump casing improvement of manufacturing processes enhancement of the peripheral components
2. Development of the ventricular assist system peripheral equipment
The prototype of ventricular assist system peripheral equipment was designed and manufactured considering, design of the softwares design and development of battery and charger sysitem implementation of usability
3. Electric Safety Assessment and ElectroMagnetic Compatibility Assessment
The implantable ventricular assist system passed all the tested items except for the waterproof test and Radiated RF Immunity.
