In Vietnam energy shortages and environmental pollution have become serious issues as a result of its rapid economic growth, and countermeasures that address these issues have become necessary. Although industrial waste is disposed of in landfills, the availability of landfill sites is reaching the limit. This issue is needed to be addressed as quickly as possible by reducing industrial waste volume. Against this backdrop, this demonstration project construct a waste power generation system using an industrial waste incinerator of rotary kiln stoker furnace which has been widely installed in Japan, to incinerate industrial waste collected from shoe factories, garment factories and etc at a disposal site of the Hanoi Urban Environment Company Ltd. in Nam Son. This system will demonstrate to advance to resolve energy and environmental issues in Vietnam. Using the results obtained through the demonstration of the system, this project also aims to promote the system in Vietnam and Southeast Asian nations. Japan and Vietnam will cooperate carrying out this model project such as demonstration operation and dissemination activity. Our work of this project is as follows. 1) Site survey and work related to contract, 2) Basic planning, 3) Basic and detail design, 4) Design, manufacturing and procurement of mechanical, electric and instrument equipment, 5) Transportation and insurance, 6) Construction work, 7) Commissioning work, 8) Promotion. Our work carried out in FY2012 of this project is as follows. 1) Site survey and work related to contract, 2) Basic planning, 3) Basic and detail design, 4) Design, manufacturing and procurement of mechanical, electric and instrument equipment.
