Subtheme1: Research and Development for Appropriate, Reasonable and Simple Method for Hydrogen Quality Control

(1) Development of Hydrogen Quality Control Guideline for Appropriate, Reasonable and Simple Method
We enacted 1st. draft of hydrogen quality control guideline especially from the points of view of gaseous impurities likely to contain in HRSs (Hydrogen Refueling Station). This draft will be the base of the private guideline, not public.

(2) Development of Hydrogen Sampling Cylinder and Hydrogen Sampling Method
We examined hydrogen samplings from the part of hydrogen pressure under 1MPa condition in HRS for the purpose of a simple way. Also, we examined hydrogen sampling from the refueling nozzle in HRS.

(3) Development of a Simple Analytical Instrument
We started preliminary tests for a short-time analysis of sampling hydrogen from the part of hydrogen pressure under 1MPa condition. We examined TOF-MS (Time of Flight Mass Spectroscopy) method.

(4) Development of Filters in HRSs for Particulates in Hydrogen
We planned to use filters in HRS for the capture of particulates in hydrogen. We examined the specifications of filters in HRSs.

(5) Verification Tests in HRSs
We conducted verification tests for hydrogen samplings from the part of hydrogen pressure under 1MPa condition in two HRSs.

(6) Search for a New and an Innovative Analytical Method
We searched a new and an innovative analytical method for Item (3). We found the new mass spectrometer as candidate.

(7) Study for Next Term ISO for Hydrogen Quality
We started the study for the next term ISO together with members of Subtheme 2.
