英文要約1) Introduction
In this study and development "Heat Exchanger" has been focused, which is considered to have large effects on power generation efficiency, economy and longtime reliability under corrosive circumstances from seawater on OTEC. KOBE STEEL., LTD has focused on establishing the processing technology to produce high heat transfer sheet with uneven surface via rolling process for C.P. Titanium with 50% higher yield strength than the softest grade CP titanium "JIS class 1". Saga University has conducted experiments and evaluations on thermal cycle efficiency and power generation performance of the OTEC plant using heat exchangers with the above heat transfer enhanced plates. And Saga University has proposed a new cycle using pure working fluid to enhance on the efficiency of cycle.
2) Outcome of the study and development in FY2013
(1) In this FY, it is focused on the plate heat exchanger for the condenser to increase the heat transfer coefficient. In the primary experiment for evaluation, the new plate has more performance than expected it.
(2) The developing prediction method for press formability of CP titanium sheet showed the potentials for useful tool for designing PHE plate shape, by proving the predicted forming height of CP titanium, had good agreement with the experiments.
(3) The new 15kW power experimental plant for new cycle, which is evaluated in this project, has been constructed at Institute of Ocean Energy, Saga University.
(4) Performance tests were conducted on developed heat exchanger, which found out that Evaporator's overall heat transfer coefficient and pinch temperature can be improved. These effects are also verified on 30kW experimental facility in IOES. This type of heat exchanger will give the lowest power generation cost when used in double-Rankine cycle.
(5) It has been constructed of the experimental apparatus for evaluation on heat transfer performance of heat exchanger new plate for condensation.
