The high moisture content waste, for example the food residue or the livestock excreta, etc. which is called Various Unutilized Biomass have not been effectively used up as a biomass recycle resource so far.
The new Torrefaction establishes the semi-carbonization technology using the superheated steam which is safe, heat transfer efficiency and small environmental load in order to make it the renewable energy as a value added biomass recycle feed stock. The equipment (Semi-carbonization device) using the above technology is designed, developed, and the performance assessment is executed. In addition, this project makes Semi-carbonization device production, sales and maintenance program, feed stock collection system and local community-based business plan. The processing condition of the Torrefaction was found from the selected feed stock (Coffee residue, cowpat, Okara-beans curd residue, sludge of Tofu plant), and data that designed the bench model was collected. It was found from an analysis result of the experimentation that the appropriate processing condition of the Torrefaction was irradiating the superheated steam about for 20 minutes (necessary time changes by the water content) at around 300 deg C in temperature in the apparatus and after that solid fraction is to becomes 70-80%. Test design of the bench model was done based on the above results. The throughput of the feed stock is assumed to be 50kg/h (the water content-60%) and its are mandatory that "The furnace atmosphere in processing is filled enough with Inert gas" and "The control method of keeps the processing temperature constant" for steady production of the Torrefaction. While establishing estimation method which cooperated the amount of generating of livestock raising system waste and food system waste used as the materials of half-carbide with GIS, the needs of half-carbonization equipment have been grasped through hearing survey. And it is 4 pattern guidance about the business model considered as shown below, and best models will be examined from now on. First, although livestock raising system waste has the effective processing as a share infrastructure, processing capacity is needed on a scale of 50-100t/D. Next, the contractor who is performing organics sludge incineration is processing 100t/D. Furthermore, since the sewage sludges of 10t/D has occurred from the sewage treatment equipment of Honjo-shi, sludge systems wastes has large plants demand. And both valuable and an inverse onerous contract be about the food system waste of an industrial system, and the direction of an inverse onerous contract has the high potential of commercialization. As a scale, there is demand of on-site type of 500kg/D. Although the movement which the sorting process etc. was needed and was turned to effective use regionally is finally requirement for the food system waste of an enterprise system, the possibility digestive juices / of methane fermentation of cascade use is high in Honjo.
