英文要約1) Development of porous insulator and conducting materials, low internal resistance technology:
From a previous study in this project, the causes of the lower characteristics in DSC modules have been revealed. During the FY 2013, we investigated porous insulator and conductor materials, in order to improve the performances of monolithic-type DSC modules. Materials that can both prevent the short circuit current density (Jsc) degradation and reduce the sheet resistance of the conducting layers were investigated. We managed to obtain a conversion efficiency value of 10% (5cm by 5cm size module) (measured in-house), by using the low internal resistance technology and the new dye produced by FUJI FILM Ltd.
2) Development of high-stability DSC modules:
During the FY2013, degradation analysis from electron injection process and heat resisting condition were investigated. Based on the electron-injection process and Jsc analysis, it was found that electrolyte additives can be divided into two groups. These two groups show different correlations between phosphorescence and Jsc. It was also found that the Jsc degradation from heat application to samples is caused by an increase of the conduction band level, an increase of recombination processes, and a rate-limiting carrier transport, among other causes.
From various investigations based on the above results, we examined the stability of monolithic modules (5cm by 5cm size) with around 8% conversion efficiency under A-2, A-5 and B-2 tests. Finally, we managed to pass the A-2, A-5 and B-2 tests with a relative degradation ratio of less than 10%.
