英文要約Title: Development of technologies to produce propylene from cellulosic ethanol (FY2008-2012) FY2011 Annual Report.

In order to investigate the catalyst performance and stability, bench plant (ethanol feed : 100kg/day) operation was proceeded using a catalyst prepared by an industrial procedure. The data obtained by the bench plant operation were used to improve the reaction simulator for designing a commercial-scale plant. PP sample was obtained by a polymerization of propylene from the bench plant and it was found that the properties of the bio-PP were the same as those of the conventional PP (from naphtha). As a purification process, an adsorptive desulfurization system of the reaction product was continuously tested using the bench plant. It was found that the concentration of hydrogen sulfide in the reaction product could be reduced lower than 10 ppb for over several months. After the operation, the samples of the bench plant materials (reactor, tube, etc.) are going to be collected for a investigation of corrosion of the materials.
