Report of feasibility studies for FY 2013;
1) Development of Numerical simulation and basic design of spar buoy
- A motion simulation program for the Spar buoy was developed.
- Basic design of spar buoy with motion stabilizer for bottom-mounted offshore wind farm was carried out for 15-50m water depth. The applicable water depth for installing the spar buoy with motion stabilizer was made clear.

2) Tank test and performance assessment
- Developed simulation program was validated by comparing with measured results.
- The following abilities of the motion stabilizer were confirmed by tank tests.
(1) upright ability in steady flow
(2) motion-reduction effects in waves
- The mechanism of the above-mentioned abilities was investigated and cleared.
- Reach our target level of buoy mobility for setting an optimum value of an angle of attachment of fin and arm of the motion stabilizer in steady flow and wave.

3) Optimum design of Spar buoy with motion stabilizer
The following potential of optimum design of the motion stabilizer in tidal currents and waves by numerical simulation were confirmed by tank tests.
- Fin-arm system (a circular plate fin with four arms) counts as a structure.
- Optimized angle of attachment of fin and arm in tidal currents and waves were validated.

4) Frame a business model
The business plan for creating a business scheme was decided by following researches. The market needs originality, novelty and superiority of the product
- Details of product qualities and prices were cleared by product market research of overseas floating lidars
- Research a market size, ordering systems, target sea areas, entry barriers and so on, mainly measuring wind industries

Above researches reach following conclusions;
- Certify a feasibility of constructing a platform of stability buoy system.
- Have an outlook to create a business scheme to enter the measuring wind market.
