1-1. Regarding potential sites and spaces for installation of solar power plants
For the estimation of potential sites for the installation of solar systems, we have used the statistical data of competent governmental authority, and targeted at the reservation (Grade 3) of first and second class rivers, and wetlands. The estimating spaces of the above potential sites are roughly 35,000 hectares in the reservation (Grade 3) of first and second class rivers, and roughly 41,000 hectares in the wetlands.
*Capability of estimating power generation by solar power plants on the potential sites;
a. River reservations (35,000 hectares): Roughly 23,333MW (24,499650MWh/year)
b. Wetlands (41,000 hectares): Roughly 27,333MW (28,699,650MWh/year)
1-2. Regarding the technical issues of installation of solar power plants
Without any consideration of legal restrictions and matters, we focused on examination toward the technical issues regarding the effective solar mounting system for the installation of solar power plants in the river reservations and wetlands.
To examine producing an original effective solar mounting system, it is required to analyze the strength of a hollow cylindrical foundation pillar of the mounting system affected by water current and shear stress.
The point to ponder is that there are various loads from wind, shear, weight of mounting system, and water current affected on the foundation pillars. At first, strength calculation of the foundation pillar toward its flexure assumed by loads from water current and shear stress from the solar mounting system should be concerned. And, the strength evaluation is required for installation of solar mounting system on the river reservation with the consideration of stream-flow in flood. With using the fundamental assumption for safety limit of the foundation pillar toward stream-flow as V=2 to 5m/s, we have successfully reached to calculate the dimension of the pillar with enough strength.
*Precise shear stress from stream-flow could not be defined at this examination.
1-3. Legal restrictions and issues regarding the installation of solar power plants
We have reviewed all existing legal restrictions and regulations, in particular, the Landscape Act, the River Law, and the Wildlife Protection and Hunting law.
