1. Preparation for acquisition of the KHK certification for the 150L-class high pressure vessel accumulator, and the storage and transportation system with those vessels

(1) Situation of the overseas type 4 compound vessel
 Dynetek (current LUXFER) for type 3, and Lincoln for type 4 are dominant. However, LUXFER provides type 4 for 50MPa or more. There is also type 2, and Faber is dominant for this type.
Responses to Japanese domestic laws of each company are shown below.
a. Lincoln
Lincoln sets Mitsui & Co. Plastics Ltd., and Taiyo Nippon Sanso as liaisons in Japan and acquired a special approval. However, it has not yet responded to the regulation, which requires the material of a metal cap to be aluminum A5056-T6, and for SUS316 and SUS316L to have nickel equivalent of 28.5% or more. Therefore, introduction is impossible under the current situation.
b. LUXFER
LUXFER basically provides type 3 for under 50MPa, and type 4 for above 50MPa. Currently JFE Container works as its liaison in Japan, and the company is attempting to acquire the certificate for a 45MPa, 300L type 3.
c. Faber
No domestic standard exists for type 2, and therefore introduction is difficult.
  
(2) Domestic market of compound vessels
a. Accumulators for hydrogen fueling stations
At this point, a certain market of accumulators includes the presently planned 100 locations for FY2013-2015. Considering the development conditions, type 4 will not be ready for this plan, but will be subject for later use in 1,000 locations by FY2025. By assuming that the number of accumulators will be 5,400 units and that the ratio of types 1, 3, and 4 will be 20%, 40%, and 40% respectively, markets for type 3 and 4 will be about 2,200 units.
b. Market of simple hydrogen filling facilities
A simple hydrogen filling facility is a low cost, differential pressure type filling facility for dealers, and is expected to become a stimulation facility during FCV in diffusion transition phase. Two of the 45MPa 100-150L compound vessel accumulators per facility are envisioned for this facility. 800-1,000 units are expected to be used. For the vessel types, 400-500 each of type 3 and 4 are expected to be used when the ratio is 1:1.

2. Type 4 vessel discussion committee
For undertaking this study, analysis of vessel design was conducted mainly by MARUHACHI Co., Ltd., and TOMOE SHOKAI Co., Ltd., with the cooperation of associate professor Kurashiki from Osaka University, associate professor Kobayashi from Tokyo Metropolitan University, and Masanori Kawahara formerly with Tokyo Metropolitan University.
