The main purpose in this project is high ammonia durability PV module development for agriculture and clarification of requirement for mounting PV module on the animal farm building roof. In 2013, the module erosion possibility gas including ammonia was researched and the ammonia accelerated test condition was investigated to find optimum PV module parts for animal farm. From this research, the 20ppm concentration ammonia durability is required for PV module. And the back sheet erosion risk and the electric corrosion risk between aluminum frame and screw bolt are suggested.
The main reason of back sheet erosion is polyethylene terephthalate esterification (alkaline hydrolysis). The current back sheet hydrolysis durability is improved compared with the past back sheet which was caused ammonia corrosion problem in Europe. So, the ammonia accelerated test will be planned to evaluate long term ammonia durability. On the other hand, salt mist spray test will be applied for the electric corrosion check between aluminum frame and screw bolt.
