Content and outcomes of research (1) Purpose and objectives This project is to create energy-saving and low-cost treatment technology for recycling of photovoltaic (PV) modules by developing an optimized system, using a novel ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) stripper, which is neutral and is operated at relatively low temperatures. It also intends to study the possibility of the reuse of silicon solar cells. The ultimate goal is to develop and establish advanced recycling technology with less environmental load for PV modules. When this project in Phase B is finished, the following objectives are expected to achieve: 1. Development of the prototype equipment for a separation and delamination system within immersion time of 24 h
2. Demonstration of the reusability of the recycled components from PV modules including at least glass, and silicon solar cells if possible 3. Definition of the target user needs and drafting of the business plan concerning the application and mass production of the system.
