英文要約 Electric potential distributions in a thin film of LiPON were studied by both experiment and simulation. A thin TEM specimen of LiPON was prepared by
the focused ion beam method and the specimen was installed into an electron holography microscope. Voltage was applied to the specimen inside the microscope by two copper current collectors, and the phase distributions of the electron wave passing through the LiPON film were measured by electron
holography experiment. Several models of electric potential distribution inside the LiPON were assumed and their phase distributions were simulated by considering the electric fields inside and outside the specimen.
Comparing the experiment and simulations, we obtained electric potential distributions inside the specimen which showed that thin electric double layers are formed in the vicinity of the Cu/LiPON interfaces as same as in the case of liquid electrolyte.
 Li ion distributions in the in situ formed negative electrode during charging and discharging was measured by Spatially-Resolved Electron Energy Loss Spectroscopy (SR-EELS). The results agreed well with the electric potential distributions obtained by electron holography.
 Atomic structures and chemical compositions of some materials being developed in this project were studied by advanced transmission electron microscope techniques such as aberration-corrected Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy (STEM), Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS) and
Electron Energy Loss Spectroscopy (EELS). These studies sometimes revealed unexpected nanostructures, crystal defects and lithium distributions.
Obtained data contributed to the research and development of high performance batteries.
