英文要約Development of Reversible Air Electrodes with Non-stoichiometric Perovskite Oxides for Next-generation Metal-Air Batteries (Hokkaido University)

The non-stoichiometric double perovskite-type oxides BaLnMn2O5+δ(Ln: Y, Gd, Nd and La), which show oxygen storage/release property, were prepared and their electrochemical activities for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) were compared. The BaLaMn2O5+δ and BaNdMn2O5+δ showed higher ORR activity than the BaYMn2O5+δ and BaGdMn2O5δ, even though the all BaLnMn2O5+δshow the same valence of Mn. On the other hand, the oxygen storage property of BaLnMn2O5+δincreased with increasing the diameter of the Ln ions (Y < Gd < Nd < La). Therefore, the high ORR activity of BaLaMn2O5+δ and BaNdMn2O5+δ may be induced by the good performance of oxygen storage property.
The several types of perovskite Mn-based oxides and Fe-based oxides were prepared and their electrochemical activities for ORR and oxygen evolution reaction (OER) were compared. The former ones showed high ORR and OER activity. In addition, we succeeded in decreasing the particle size of the latter ones by optimization of the synthetic process, leading to quite high OER activity.
