英文要約This project aims at developing an annual green oil (microalgal oil) production process using psychrophilic and mesophilic microalgae. The life cycle assessment of the proposed process will be conducted to evaluate the energy profit ratio and green house gas (GHG) reduction. This is a collaborative work with Electric Power Development co., ltd (J-POWER) as a representative, JGC Corporation (JGC) and Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT).
Until now, the construction of 12 open-pond typed bioreactors (10,000 L total 20 open-pond typed bioreactors ) for cultivation and 3 additional bioreactors for oil accumulation( total 5 bioreactors for oil accumulation) has been completed in J-POWER, Kita-Kyushu. The outdoor cultivation test using these bioreactors and a psychrophilic strain JPCC CTDA0820 revealed a stable biomass production under low water temperature. These results suggest that the proposed system can be applied to annual green oil production process with high energy profit ratio. In JGC, several methodologies (including high-throughput and high-efficiency extraction column, WINTRAYR) and/or their combination processes were examined to design efficient oil extraction process. The growth characteristics of strain JPCC CTDA0820 was clarified by TUAT. Furthermore, the genetic transformation technique for this strain has been successfully established by using micro-particle bombardment method. These achievements enable us to develop various mutants to enhance the green oil productivity.
