英文要約Title: Development of Production Technology for 100% Green Jet Fuel by Hybrid Microbe Equipped with Chemical Catalysts (FY2014-FY2015) FY2014 Annual Report

In our project, we are planning to create a hybrid microbe by introducing unnatural chemical reactions exclusively used in chemical synthesis into a microbe, which enable to produce unnatural hydrocarbon derivatives with various backbones by fermentation.
Hydrocarbon derivatives produced by our hybrid microbe would be easily converted to branch- and cyclo- hydrocarbons and aromatics suitable for jet fuels.
This project consists of four sections: “Functional expression of chemical catalysts in microbe”, “Screening of tailoring enzymes”, “Development of a novel cofactor-regeneration system coupled with generation of hydrogen”, and “Construction of a hybrid microbe equipped with chemical catalysts. In fiscal 2015, we examined the former three sections. Peptide sequences which functioned as mimics of chemical catalysts were designed. Candidates of tailoring enzymes were selected. Expression plasmids for heterologous expression of hydrogenases were designed.
