英文要約Title: Manufacturing Initiative through AM innovation(FY2014-FY2015) FY2014 Annual Report
Despite high expectation for manufacturing innovation triggered by additive manufacturing, the outlook is unclear. To realize the innovation through AM technology, this project will overcome the obstacles for the innovation. In the project, we will make three improvements in product concept, design tool and process capability, and also enhance penetration of these results and knowledge through industries and potential user of the technology. Results of 2014 FY are following.
1. Improvement in process capability
Aiming at process of super engineering process, an experimental apparatus has been prototyped to develop, test and improve the new process. The intermediate material before trying the super engineering plastic is searched.
2. Improvement in product concept
Having selected high style sport prosthesis as a milestone product to indicate the strength of AM technology, a concept model has been additive-manufactured by basis of the measurement of currently available prosthesis which is fabricated manually by skilled technicians. We have held exhibition twice, and the design concept was introduced to public.
3. Improvement in design tool
Basic function for designing the prosthesis is developed and implemented.
4. Penetration through industry and other users
A symposium took place, and activity of this project was appealed to the audience more than 300. In the symposium, various lecturers are invited from Japan and oversea as well, to exchange up-to-date information and knowledge about additive manufacturing.
A committee which is composed of industries was organized to accelerate the diffusion of project fruits.
