英文要約Title: Development of Nano-Assembly Technique of Advanced Materials and Strategic Applications for Future Industry (FY2014-FY2015) FY2014 Annual Report

A novel processing technique to fabricate integrated composite particles was successfully developed by present research group before. It was useful for developing the novel functional nano-composite, due to control the microstructure in composite. However, small amount of integrated composite particles were obtained by proposed conventional processing method, meaning that it is difficult to use practical applications for fabricating functional composite materials. In order to fabricate large amount of integrated composite powder, further improvement of fabrication technique needs for innovation of materials science. The manufacturing system with high productive capacity of composite particles has developed on basis of colloidal science in this project and then, useful examples of application for fabricating the composite powders were proposed to popularize as key technology in the material industry. The productive capacity of composite particles was enhanced from 50-100g/h to 500g/h by use of concentrated colloidal suspension, and also proposed controlling method of quality of obtained composite particles, i.e., nano-particles are “homogeneously adsorbed” on large size of matrix particles. Useful applications for composite particle were also proposed in this research period. The aerosol deposition (AD) method is one of the attractive technique to fabricate dense ceramic film at room temperature. The integrated composite particle, i.e., nano-sized indium tin oxide (ITO) coated on alumina particle, was used as raw powder in AD technique. The obtained thick film formed on the substrate has excellent optical properties which were visible transmittance with 70-80% and near-infrared absorption. Other example of application for composite particle is functional ceramic powder for the selective laser sintering (SLS) process. The composite particle structure, i.e., nano-sized ceramic powder coated on large-size of unsinterable ceramic powder, exhibited good sinterability. It is meaning that the composite powder is useful as laser-sinterable ceramic powder.
