英文要約Title:Research and development of small binary power generation with water as working medium (FY2014 - FY2015) FY2014 Annual Report
In this project, we are developing a binary power generation system with water as working medium in order to enhance the acceptability of binary power generation to communities. This system has superiority to the point of unnecessary of risk, environmental pollution and waste treatment.
In this year, we have performed the followings:
(1) Design and development of the entire system: we have designed 20kW-class power generation system and a power generation demonstration system using thermal effluent. In order to determine the basic specifications of the power generation device, variability for temperature and flow rate of the hot water and cooling water is calculated.
(2) Development of power generator: we have designed turbine power generator with twin entry turbine, water-lubricated bearings, and variable nozzle mechanism, and have fabricated an experimental model.
3) Development of high performance heat exchanger: In order to achieve 6% efficiency of 20kW electric power generation from waste heat, we establish a mathematical model of heat and fluid flow inside evaporator and condenser. Based on the model, a numerical simulation code for reproducing the transport phenomena inside the heat exchangers is developed. In addition, the shape optimization strategy is implemented in the code and its performance is validated.
(4) Field test: The installation point of the power generation device to use the thermal effluent is selected, and then investigate the change of the temperature and flow rate of the hot water and cooling water. Based on it, we have developed a work plan for plumbing, etc.
