A summary outcome of research projects is described as below:

(1) Investigation of generated noise by existing machine
Measured noise levels under following conditions by keeping machine performance at maximum level and got noise characteristics of existing machine
○ Measurement of sound power level
○ Measurement of noise directivity
○ Measurement of partial noise level of machine
○ Measurement by acoustic camera

(2) Materialization for targeting noise level reduction
Targeted noise level reduction aiming low noise leveling is “6dB”. After analysis of noise reduction simulation, the target is set as to that new type machine is to be categorized as “ Ultra Low Noise Type Construction Machinery” and noise level of new machine while drilling operation is to be categorized as “Low Noise Type Construction Machinery”.

(3) Development of noise reduction
Noise reduction design for machine’s inner structures has been completed for 7 objects among 9 development objects and the manufacturing after completion of designing has been commenced.

(4) Development of automated control
Actuating flow chart (requirement definition, etc.) for developing the program has been provided and display screen design by touch panel has been temporarily determined.

(5) Other special notes
○ Obtained information by means of questionnaire for overseas (Australia) and domestic customers with regard to technical development
○ Obtained information by interviewing to skilled drilling engineers
