The purpose of this project is to develop useful sensor devices and the sensor network system for monitoring construction of roads (e.g. jet fans, streetlights).
It is necessary that this system realized certain and effective monitoring. This research and development elements was classified into eight and carried out the specifications and evaluation for each element in FY2014.

About sensor part, we focused on the natural frequency measurement of constructions of roads for monitoring correct condition.
As a result of the measurement, we found that abnormal conditions show a peak of specific frequency or peak-shift compared with normal conditions.
In the future, Further measuring the natural frequency of not only 1 axis (e.g.: Z-axis) but also 2 or 3 axis (e.g.: X-axis, Y-axis) and further monitoring in detail are needed in order to detecting change of conditions in detail.

About electric power source part, one of the research elements was to research and develop technology of independent power generation device that could work by itself. We calculated amount of average electric power generation energy of the solar power generation and the oscillating generation which could mount on the sensor. We also calculated amount of the electric power consumption energy of sensor part and wireless part. As a result, we found that the solar power generation should be used at the place except the tunnel and the oscillating generation should be used in the tunnel.

Furthermore, about wireless part, we compared 4 drafts of the beacon-synchronization system to realize the patrol collecting model that can be received data in maintenance cars while moving.
In these drafts, “The mobile-reader drive system” was adopted, because this system is that the mobile-reader sends beacons continuously, and that the sensor devices don’t need to send useless packets, and that realize average power consumption of the sensor devices is the lowest level (813μW).

In the years ahead, we will develop the prototype based on the formulated specifications and evaluated in practical fields.
