英文要約Title: Development of Non-destructive Testing Apparatus using Ultra Compact X-ray System and Neutron Moisture Meter for Infrastructure Maintenance
(FY2014-FY2016) FY2014 Annual Report

In order to apply non-destructive testing apparatus using ultra compact X-ray system and neutron sensor to infrastructure maintenance, we are developing high energy (more than 200 kV tube voltage) compact X-ray sources, CdTe X-ray detectors, and neutron moisture meter using a neutron source. Furthermore, those sources and detectors will be installed in a robot of a non-destructing testing system for 6 inch pipes in chemical plants, which is covered by a thermal insulating materials. In FY2014, we have developed several components for X-ray and neutron non-destructing testing apparatus as following: 1) We have made a prototype robot for the neutron moisture meter. In the next fiscal year, we will install the neutron moisture meter and will check the performance. 2) We have installed a vacuum and high-voltage processing apparatus for carbon nanostructure-based X-ray tube of more than 200 kV tube voltage. 3) We have made a new version of cold cathode X-ray tubes using a coniferous carbon nanostructure and high voltage drivers. We have confirmed generation of X-ray of more than 170kV tube voltage. 4) A neutron moisture meter optimized for the robot has been developed. 5) We have designed the robot for the neutron moisture meter. 6) We have developed 2D imaging sensors of 0.1mm pitch using CdTe detectors. 7) We have tested the performance of X-ray source of 170kV tube voltage and prepared the performance test of the robot with the neutron moisture meter.
