(1)Development of rod changer for cost reduction
Design and development of rod changer for reduction of total rod changing time and number of operators were completed. Based on operational check, mechanism of the rod changer was confirmed to be adequate. Installation of the rod changer to drilling machine and further full scale demonstration will be carried out.

(2)Development of ground source heat exchanger for high performance and cost reduction
Small ground heat exchanger to be installed at the shallow depth using drilling machine was developed for cost reduction of ground source heat pump system. Heat exchange rate of the small ground heat exchanger was simulated on the condition of different material and flow rate of the ground heat exchanger using analytical model. As a result, it was indicated that the small ground heat exchanger composed of polyethylene pipe had sufficient heat exchange capacity.

(3)Development of ground source heat exchanger for high performance and cost reduction
Development of high-performance and low-cost ground source heat exchanger
In the current year preparations of field test of the ground source heat pump system using newly developed heat exchanger and numerical analysis on performance investigation of the heat exchanger were carried out. A slinky type heat exchanger was formed by newly developed resin coated copper tube for the field test of the ground heat pump system. The heat exchangers were embedded in the ground horizontally and perpendicularly. In the numerical analysis, simulations of the slinky type and vertical spiral type heat exchanger were carried out for estimation of the performance of these heat exchangers by comparison with straight type (U-type) heat exchanger.

(4)Development of low-cost heat source application
Experimental apparatus for low-cost ground heat source system was set up. Even in the case of low heat load condition in summer, the ground source heat pump system can be operated by refrigerant which is flowed by liquid pump.
