1.Exploring the potential for standardization
It was established that by altering the parameter setup of DC-DC converters, it is possible to standardize Power Conditioners for use with various small wind turbines. A number of items were identified regarding the compatibility of small wind turbines to grid connection standards that will need to be addressed going forward:
-Testing method for output variation during cut-in/cut-out/breaking mode
-Pass/fail conditions for fault ride through during grid disturbance
-Transient response characteristics, voltage flicker characteristics etc. for vertical wind turbines
-Definition of rated and max. power for small wind turbines
-Relaxation of test conditions for isolated operation (1/4th of rated power)
-Tasks regarding the future implementation of output regulation
2.Integration testing with the generators
Currently there are a number of generators not compatible with existing power conditioners. It was agreed that generator characteristics will be shared during the project and will be incorporated into the design and development of the power conditioner.
(2)Generator development (Toyo Denki, Dynax)
1.Prioritizing and standardizing design requirements
Main design factors will be rpm, torque and output
2.Identifying cost down potentials
-Toyo Denki will provide a coreless generator that allows both the generator and the power conditioner without a control circuit.
-Dynax is working to select materials for the three main components of the generator (core, shaft, magnet) that enable a cost savings.

2.Comparing regulations
This year design load, pole height related regulations have been researched and analyzed, and some discrepancies were found between the various regulations in III., which will need to be considered in the design principles to be set going forward.
3.Standardization of poles
It was agreed that in addition to design loads, deflection will also need to be considered in the standardization process. It was understood during the research that clearance of blades from the pole, need of maintenance etc. are also important factors.
