英文要約Title: Development of Intermediate-Temperature SOFC using Proton Conducting Oxides (FY2013-FY2015) FY2013 Annual Report

Durability and conductivity of proton conducting solid electrolytes, BaZrInOx (BZI) and BaZrCeInOx (BZCI) , were investigated. To verify the CO2 durability, these electrolytes were exposed to simulated reformed gas* for more 1000 h at 100, 500, 800 °C respectively, then investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis. It was found that BZCI electrolytes were decomposed at 500 °C and 800 °C for 1000 h, on the other hand, BZI electrolytes were not decomposed at any temperature for 1000 h. Therefore, BZI electrolytes were found out the capability for CO2 durability under the practical conditions. Then the conductivity of BZI electrolytes was measured by the electrochemical ac impedance spectroscopy under the simulated fuel cell operating conditions. The bulk conductivity and the grain-boundary conductivity were 1.0x10-2 S/cm and 2.0x10-3 S/cm, respectively. Higher conductivity at 600 °C compared to Yttria-Stabilized Zirconia (YSZ) electrolytes shows the potential of BZI electrolytes but it was suggested that the grain-boundary conductivity needs to be improved. *Imitation Simulated reformed gas: H2/CO2 = 75/25 and H2O (D.P. 65 °C)
