英文要約Title: Research and Development of Wind Power Generation Technology/ Research and Development of Offshore Wind Power Generation Technology/ Demonstrative Research on next-generation floating Offshore Wind Power Generation System (barge type)

As the early stage of the Feasibility Study (FS), we focused on basic and preliminary surveys to prepare for the start of the FS.
To identify the permission requirements for marine use, we surveyed the following bodies and summarized the information collected: Relevant bodies in charge of the potential sea area, governmental agencies that permit facility construction, and other interested parties.
To identify the seabed geology, we surveyed the geological formations where the facility is to be constructed based on marine geological maps published by the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology. We also surveyed the steps involved in acoustic surveys, side-scan sonar imaging, and bathymetry to identify the data characteristics that will be obtained from each method.
To select the waters for constructing the floating structures, we consulted governmental bodies in charge of the potential sea area to coordinate with the local fishing industry, and to decide on the implementation scheme of environmental assessment in alliance with consortium members. We also discussed with the Japanese Coast Guard to collect information about the impacts on marine traffic.
Regarding the grid connection, we selected candidate sites for the connection of a high-voltage transmission system based on site surveys. We also consulted the utility company in charge of the district to see whether the connection would be possible within the sites, and whether there are any restrictions for the connection such as capacity limits. We then screened the candidate sites with the information collected.
Regarding the basic engineering of the offshore wind turbines, we prepared a quotation specification, and conducted examinations for both concrete and steel floating structures.
Regarding the mooring structure, we arranged the requisites such as ships for holding power tests at the sites, rigging, measuring devices, and checked the work specifications.
Regarding the observation systems, we examined and listed the necessary devices and checked the specifications for each device.
Regarding the technological development for offshore wind turbine maintenance, we received a quote for a thunderstorm warning service and examined the contents of the service.
We evaluated the business feasibility by examining the validation of social benefits for next-generation offshore wind turbine systems such as economic ripple effects and CO2 reduction.
Regarding the environmental assessment, we predicted the critical impacts of the business based on preceding studies and hearings about offshore wind business, and defined the scope of the demonstration study.
