英文要約Title: Research & Development of Highly-Reliable Hydrocarbon-based Polymer Electrolyte Membrane (FY2013-FY2014) FY2013 Annual Report

The objectives of this project are the development of the next generation technology bringing high reliability and low cost of PEFC, and the creation of the innovative hydrocarbon-based polymer electrolyte membrane. In 2013, Toray has developed novel organic peroxide decomposition catalysts to improve chemical durability of hydrocarbon-based polymer electrolyte membrane, and has also designed and synthesized novel hydrocarbon-based polymer electrolyte materials to improve cell performance under high temperature and low humidity condition. Newly developed membrane 25A and 25B using newly-developed organic peroxide decomposition catalysts showed comparable or higher cell performance under high temperature and low humidity condition, and 2-3.2 times higher chemical durability, in comparison with the reinforced PFSA membrane (Nafion HP) as a reference membrane. Therefore, newly developed membrane 25A and 25B accomplished the FY2013 target on both cell performance and chemical durability.
