A) Effect of fluctuated electric power to the electrolyzer
Power-supply on off influence was examined. Over 4,000times on off, only slight influence was detected. About the influence of the electric current periodic change, long-term test is under execution.

B) Middle-size electrolyzer
Production and setting of the middle-size electrolyzer (Active area 0.25m2/cell, production rate 20Nm3/hr-H2) was completed. The initial evaluation of the device was carried out. The result was good that electrolysis voltage was <1.80V at the current density 0.6mA/cm2-active area.

C) The current frequency responsiveness of the electrolyzer
The electric circuit analysis of the electrolyzer was examined. Using the results, the method of frequency response-related simulation of the device was established. In addition, the frequency responsiveness of the device was directly measured. As a result, the device was quickly responding to the fluctuated electricity (for example the wind-generated electricity) and produced Hydrogen appropriated to the electric quantity.

D) DC power supply equipment development
The configuration of the large current DC power supply equipment is explained. Commercial AC power is rectified by a diode rectifier and DC link supply is generated. This rectified DC link supply is converted to high frequency AC using an IGBT inverter, and it is input to the primal side of a high frequency step-down transformer. Step-downed secondary side output is rectified by a diode rectifier once again and DC power necessary to electrolysis of water is supplied.

E) Cooperative control method development
Cooperative control method between wind turbines and a water electrolyzer has been developed based on computer simulation. According to the developed method, the fluctuation portion of wind turbines’ output was consumed by the device and the stable portion was transmitted to the electrical grid. Moreover, if the fluctuation power has exceeded the rated power of the device, the controller suppressed the wind turbines’ output. We have carried out long term simulation over 30 days with the developed method. As a result, the grid output fluctuation was effectively decreased without second battery. On the other hand, the total energy loss by suppression control was less than 2%.
