The current, is progressing aging was built bridges and tunnels more than 40 years ago. Inspection of the tunnel requires traffic regulation. Maintenance engineers carried out as close as possible to the inspection point by mobile elevating work platform. But, it take the time to visual inspection and hammering test for inspection area is wide. And there are variations in the visual and hammering inspection by human. We have proposed a "variable guide frame vehicle for inspection of tunnel lining concrete" for new technology of infrastructure maintenance. We report about the inspection plan and basic constitution of the vehicle in this report.

(1) Development of Auto Crack Detection Method by Using Vision Sensors Measurement
Experiments of 0.1 - 1.3 mm width crack specimens with the light section method was done in order to design requirements of measurement device and conditions required for an auto detection of concrete cracks over 0.5 mm width and an auto distinction between cracks and others such as chalk lines or stains.
(2) Development of Auto Distinction Method of the Abnormal State Concrete
Sound data samples of hammering tests including some noisy samples were recorded in actual tunnels in order to construct the sound database required for our auto distinction method of abnormal state concrete.
(3) Development of Variable Guide Frame Fitting for Various Tunnel Geometries
Scale model of a variable guide frame (VGF) was designed schematically. Tunnel scale model was also built. Dynamic structure analysis of VGF has been begun.
(4) Development of Inspection System that Integrates the Elements Technology
Developed the hammering inspection device to that mimics the human hammering inspection. And also developed the continuously hammering inspection device. To manufacture VGF based on scale model that was designed by "(3)". Investigated the tunnel dimensions and inspection content necessary for the development of the tunnel Inspection system.
(5) Development of Inspection System for the Physical Properties of Concrete
The way by which remote vanity does concrete strength presumption of tunnel inside of wall was investigated the practicable concrete strength estimation method in tunnel. Constructed a concrete strength inspection system using a core drill.
(6) Development of the Expert System Which Suggests the Methods for Repair of Tunnel
Recent repair technology was investigated and the repair material, listing of related traders and a data base were made. 7 factors of deformation and 5 factors of environment were determined as the item necessary to a judgment of the repair from survey result of "road tunnel check point" and our tunnel of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
