1. Basic data collection (evaluation of multi GNSS and augmentation signal effect)
We obtained following pattern of data by vehicle installed receivers. (1) Suburban road (open sky), (2) City highway (there are a few junctions) and (3) City road (narrow sky, urban canyon). Result of case (3) was severe condition that the positioning accuracy was worth than the other cases. In case of single code positioning, the accuracy is about several tens of meter. Comparing between the result of GPS only and multi GNSS (GPS+GLONASS+QZSS) results of single code positioning, these accuracy improved (1) from 8.9m to 2.9m, (2) from 19.4m to 10m, (3) from 51.5m to 16.5m. This result explains the effectiveness of multi GNSS positioning. On the other hand, in case of using augmentation signal (LEX signal), the accuracy is about (1)1.1 m, (2)3.4 m and (3) 9.4m (rms).
2. Investigation (filed survey) for creating map
ZENRIN conducted legal research on whether any regulations apply when foreigners get involved in mapping activities in Thailand, Indonesia, Myanmar and Malaysia. Findings: Bringing map data out of Thailand needs an approval from Royal Thai Survey Department (“RTSD”). Although field survey can be conducted by any companies without requiring the authority’s permission as far as the said survey is in compliance with local laws, foreigners need to obtain a prior work permit from the respective Labor Office. Production of map data can be done if a permit from the creator of the original work (satellite or aerial photographs) is obtained. If such work features restricted places, an approval from RTSD is required.
3. Proof of concept for utilization of telematics data collection with high-accuracy vehicle localization augmented by QZSS
FY2014, we have investigated the utilization of QZSS precision probe information 【1】,【2】(local needs, challenges, market feasibility study).

【2】 "information service" area: LBS(Location Based Services) of mainly popular smartphone use
By conducted interviews to companies and organizations, was to understand the actual situation of Thailand. We have selected 10 companies as visiting companies and organizations.
Industries and services of those companies and organizations, car device providers, PROBE equipment and information providers, taxi dispatch business, road traffic information collection, map-car navigation system, traffic information processing and providers. From the results of our investigate, up to 1.20 million vehicles as probe equipped target in Thailand (2014). Probe taxi 11 thousand units + track 0.131 million units = a total of 0.14 million units (2014)
 LBS (including mobile advertising market), the relevant market at the time in 2013 about 900-1300 Million yen is, in about 34-4600 Million yen in 2022. Furthermore QZS is estimated expected to market size of about 38-5500 Million yen if stimulate the market.
 In addition, current state business scale of, it was considered the economic impact through the expectations of QZSS. Overcome by high-precision positioning, the amount to be created has been estimated to be 237 billion yen.
