1.Understanding of the Recent Trend of Regulations for High Pressure Composite Cylinder (HPCC)
and the Consideration of Ways to Conform to the Laws and Regulations.
We attended the section meeting of the HPCC organized by JPEC three times as observers as well as seminars and exhibitions on hydrogen technology. Through the above activities, we researched and studied ways to conform to the current regulations for HPCC and the compilation of criteria for them.
2.Feasibility Studies to Produce the HPCC
2-1 Establishment of the Inspection Technology of the Heat Fusion part. As a result of having applied the ultrasonic pulse echo method to detect the defect, the detection of the defect echo was possible definitely.
We found useful possibility as an evaluation method of the heat fusion part, and we push forward optimization.
2-2 Structure Establishment of the Seal Part of the Mouthpiece.
We produced three kinds of models experimentally to establish the
structure of the seal part of the Mouthpiece and tested pressurization examinations. In addition, in a He gas permeability test to mention later,
we confirmed that there was not the gas leak from the seal part.

3.Trial Production and Evaluation of a Small HPCC with a Volume of 30L.
3-1 Validation of becoming high efficiency and high precision of the CFRP
reinforcement layer molding of Type 4 Small HPCC.
We introduced the software which operated Filament Winding machine at
high speed to realize high efficiency of the CFRP reinforcement layer
molding, and enabled high-speed and highly precise molding.
3-2 Gas Permeability Test with He gas
We used multilayered liner having the gas barrier layer, gradually
pressurize a cylinder from low to quantity of strain of the 106MPa
pressurization and measured quantity of permeability of the He
gas. As a result, the quantity of He gas permeability of the 106MPa
conversion confirmed that we satisfied a JPEC Guideline.
In addition, we carried out the inspection of the He gas permeability
test with the cylinder which reinforced PE single-layered liner of 6L
in CFRP, and examined possibility of the PE single-layered liner.

4.Trial Production and Evaluation of a Medium HPCC with a Volume of 100L.
4-1 Manufacture of the Molding Die of the Medium-sized(100L) liner.
Based on a trial manufacture evaluation result of small-sized (30L)
liner using the simple die of the steel, we manufactured a highly
precise die by the aluminum processing. Because
the heat distribution of the molding die was an important factor of
the precision improvement, in the molding of plastic, we adopted an
advantageous aluminum type of the heat distribution more.
4-2 Trial Production of Medium-sized(100L) Liner.
For further reproducibility and process control item setting, we
carried out the review of a past molding condition. As a result, a
molding condition was established.
We produced the medium-sized(100L) liner in reference to a molding
condition of the small (30L) liner, and established a standard of the
single-layered molding.
We inspect dimensions precision of the liner and the situation to
heat fusion with the Mouthpiece and will perform a further element
study in future. In addition to the equalization of each layer, we
extract a problem to mold a large(300L) cylinder by performing
the trial manufacture that the deficient factor considered.
