1. Contents of research and development and results
(1)Concept
We, Toyo Machine co., Ltd, are maintaining the railway maintenance cars. They are mounted diesel engine. They are unsuitable for the exhaust gas reduction, and do not come back when the engine breaks down. In order to solve this problem, we started to develop a hybrid railway maintenance car from 5 years ago. The maximum sales point of hybrid railway maintenance car is to be able to run with engine when motor breaks down, and is possible to run by motor when engine breaks down. Now there is a railway maintenance car mounted 2 engines. But it isn't widely used because of high price and an exhaust gas. The railway maintenance car is production by order, so the development cost can't be collected easily. Then we develop BMS and mount into a car. After that we develop for an electric power and system concurrently. Lithium ion batteries are expensive. We are confident to be able to capture new market if we make a system using lead storage battery that initial cost is cheap.

a) We use lead storage battery for forklifts using for deep charging and discharging. We will run by using them for 4 hours continuously.
b) Interactive power supply is made by Nipron, dTBRS3163ー22. 1 set is composed from 6 unit. And we use 5 sets.
c) The host controller to achieve the control and operation system of interface of BMS in embedded software. The hardware is composed from vehicle computer considering an earthquake and environmental resistance.
d) DC power supply for the lead storage battery charging to use the DC stabilized power supply.
e) Power conditioner is for vehicle to grid.
f) Phase sensor performs the phase measurement using a non-contact voltage sensor that uses a patented technology of Iida electronics co., Ltd.
g) Pythagoras box is supplied to the BMS the information necessary to monitor lead storage battery in serial communications (RS-232C).
