・Reactivity of blast furnace slag aggregate
To clarify the improvement effect of blast furnace slag aggregate against frost damage, (1) recounting the previous results and (2) fundamental experiments were carried out. Some reports suggest that cement-concrete using blast furnace slag have poor freezing and thawing resistance, but these results were estimated to relate to breathing condition of their cement-concrete. We demonstrated the cement-concretes using blast furnace slag have excellent freezing and thawing resistance in case that the cement-concretes had small amount of breathing water. We also start to investigate variation of the slag aggregate depending on manufacturing site and its product lot. At the current results, physical properties of the slag were not varied by its product lot, however, freezing and thawing resistance properties, compared by small pieces of mortar, were different by their manufacturing site. This variance is estimated to occur by difference of their particle size and reactivity.
