1. A-1. Development of laser nano-fabrication realized by using double laser beam irradiation
To achieve laser nano-fabrication much smaller size than that limited by laser wavelength, the knowledge of laser ablation threshold for materials is important due to control the laser-matter interaction. The ablation threshold for objective material was measured precisely for single laser beam irradiation. Additionally, the characteristics of laser processing (ablation rate and crater diameter dependence on laser fluence) were also measured for discussing the optimum laser condition for double laser beam irradiation. Note that the ablation rate denotes the crater depth for one laser pulse. To produce the nano-structures which is much smaller size than diffraction limit, experimental set-up for double laser beam irradiation was constructed.

1. A-2. Development of laser material processing for inducing new functionalities
Experimental setup for Laser Induced New Functionalities (LINF) on objective materials was constructed and the experiment for LINF was done in air.

1. B. Development of laser micro-fabrication realized by controlling permittivity for adjacent material
Experimental setup for Laser Induced Periodic Surface Structuring (LIPSS) on objective material was constructed and the experiment for LIPSS production was done in air.
