Development of new monitoring system for enhanced forecast technology has been started. A variety of wind and PV power plants in Tohoku area were selected, and development of data collection system has been started. R&D Item (2): The Standardization and price reduction of the power control system of the intermittent renewable generation
We investigated for communication device (transmission equipment, item) to be installed on the wind farms (WFs). Most of the power utilities, installed the CDT equipment. Therefore, we studied the required amount of information, cost reduction method, standardization for CDT equipment. We examined the communication systems between a power utilities and generation companies corresponding to voltage classes.
For the power system configuration, we will examine the configurations used in power utilities, and review and compare the configurations to achieve an optimum configuration to ensure low cost and reliability.
Development of power control device for wind power generation has been started. For high-voltage system interconnection, the selection of proof business sites that will cooperate to the project was selected. For low-voltage interconnection, we planned to place the new wind power for this project, and had a consultation with relationship group for construction.
R&D Item (3): The advancement and optimization of the power control system of the intermittent renewable generation
Algorithm development for minimum and equitable distribution of wind power control has been started. The algorithm expressed in terms of the parameters such as the control energy of WFs was assessed by the simplified power system. It was found that the prediction error of WF output should be considered.
We organized the device that is required to realize the communication system of interactive and single direction. For the transmission and reception for the power control information by communication system of interactive and single direction, we examined the system constitution using Head End System, and manufactured the prototype of Head End System. In addition, the prototype of the simulator was manufactured.
Study for an intermediate system for remotely power control from a central dispatching office to WFs has been started.
R&D Item (4): Development and demonstration of a remote power control system.
We evaluated the configuration of the existing communication equipment and a communication lines, the cost, and so on. Based on the evaluation, we decided to adapt a centralized control scheme from a central dispatching office. We develop the remote power control system, including existing WFs, in cooperation with the Japan Wind Power Association; We study on the status of demonstration project for PV, and consider incorporating the results.
