英文要約The target biomass fuels in this project are not general wooden chips, but felled bamboo produced during maintenance of degraded bamboo forests or remaining material of bamboo discarded from bamboo processing plants, and bark produced in landings or lumber mills or remaining material in forests. Since bamboo contains a lot of alkali metals, clinker is easily formed when bamboo is burnt. The clinker decreases combustion efficiency. In addition, bamboo also contains a lot of chlorine, which causes corrosion of the heat exchanger of a boiler. On the other hand, it is difficult to burn bark alone because the moisture content of bark is high. Shredded bark gets entangled easily due to its long fiber, and thus it is difficult to charge the shredded bark into a furnace stably. With aims to solve these problems by mixing bamboo and bark and to convert them into energy stably, basic data was collected and combustibility in a small combustion furnace was checked in fiscal year 2015. In addition, basic data was collected to effectively utilize combustion ash of bamboo and bark with a lot of inorganic components.
1) Component analysis of material bamboo and combustion ash
Bamboo Energy analyzed components of materials used for the combustion test.
It also analyzed components of combustion ash obtained in the combustion test.
2) Measurement of moisture content of bamboo and Japanese cedar bark
The moisture content of bamboo and bark to be used in the project was measured.
As a result, the moisture content of the bamboo decreases significantly by being left for 1 or 2 months. On the other hand, the bark is very hygroscopic and particularly tends to absorb rain water. Thus the moisture content of bark increases up to 70% or more, which exceeds the combustion limit, when it is stored outdoors. It was found that study on storage method was required and mixing both of them reduces the average moisture content effectively. On the other hand, mold growth rate and fermentation rate of bamboo increase and heat is produced in spring and summer. Thus the effect of that on the moisture content is investigated continuously.
3) Study on effective utilization method of combustion ash
For utilizing ash obtained in the test with the small combustion furnace in Nankan-machi as deodorizer and antibacterial agent, the effectiveness of the ash was verified. Effectiveness of the antibacterial effect was confirmed.
4) Verification of suppression of formation of ash clinker
In Nankan-machi in Kumamoto, combustion test was conducted, while the mixing ratio of bamboo and bark was changed. The test was conducted while the ratio of bamboo with respect to the bark was changed from 30% to 80%. The result shows that clinker formation can be suppressed at the bamboo ratio of up to 50%. Verification of adhered matters in a furnace. A dummy water-cooled tube, which is equivalent to a boiler water heat exchanger, was installed in a furnace, and adhered matters were collected and analyzed.
