英文要約1) Measurement of meteorological and oceanographic quantity:

The meteorological observation has been continuing. From observed data, the influence of the observation tower and the validity of the processing method of wind direction and wind speed data were considered.
The oceanographic observation has been continuing. From observed data the development of swell and wind waves were considered.
The operation of data collection and distribution system has been continuing.

2) The verification and the Improvement of numerical simulations :

i) Prediction of wind speed under normal condition :
A scanning doppler lidar was installed on the offshore platform, and verified against existing coventional doppler lidar. The special variation of wind speed over sea was made clear.

ii) Prediction of sea states
The two-dimentional wave spectrum was obtained from the measurement data at the seastate meter, and wave directional spreading was modelled. The accuracy of wave prediction was improved by including whole the northern Pacific Ocean as a computational domain.

iii) The effect of met ocean condition on wind turbine load
The maximum load during power production was modeled. A new exrapolation coefficient was defined as the ratio at the load with 50 years return period subtacted by the mean value, to mean of maximum load subtracted by the mean load. The new extrapolation coefficient is applicable regardless of the difference in turbulence intensity and position of the tower.

3) Design and construction of the observation tower:

In 2015, hydraulic model experiment was conducted to analyze wave force against the additional equipment to protect the undersea cable.

4) Detailed research of the impact on environment :

Detailed research of the impact on environment has been carried focusing on the effect on the wildlife, marine life, etc. In 2015, in addition to the previous research, the water quality and the bottom sediment, etc were measured.
And a test sailing of wind farm support vessel started to from January.2016 in Choshi. Then the Symbiosis between fisherman's cooperative and offshore wind power was studied as a case that is Demonstrative Research on Offshore Wind Power Generation System.
