For the realization of the IGFC, it is important to prevent performance degradation of a Fuel Cell caused by impurities in coal syngas.In this study, in order to establish a gas purification technology for Fuel Cell, we investigate the influence of poisoning elements on a fuel cell, and the adsorbent for the removal of poisoning component from coal syngas.
(1)The evaluation of poisoning resistance.
We planned two tests to confirm the influence of poisoning component to Fuel Cell. The tubular type SOFC (MHPS) is selected as the evaluation target.
(a) Influence of individual the poisoning component.
It's tested using a short cell. And the special compressed gases of AsH3, H2Se, PH3, B2H6 in addition to HCl are selected as the evaluation target. Therefore, special high pressure gas supply unit and dry detoxification system were designed and installed.
(b) Long-term durability.
It's tested using a cell stack. And HCl and the H2S which are main poisoning component in coal syngas are selected as the evaluation target. Therefore, the test system installed for reference test and influential of the poisoning component evaluation test.
(2)The performance evaluation of Gas purification technology for Fuel Cell.
As gas purification technology for fuel cells, the performance from which even the level which falls below allowable concentration of a fuel cell removes poisoning component is asked from the adsorbent.Therefore we check the removal performance about the adsorbent by screening test, and we acquire data to a design by bench test.In this year, the test system and gas supply equipment were designed and installed. And Basic data of adsorbents was acquired.
